First Day School
Sundays 10:30 to 11:30
Children of all ages are always welcome at Miami Friends Meeting. We have an active First Day School program. Children from ages 4 through 14 engage in joint activities and projects. By combining ages, we learn to be sensitive to differences in abilities and talents. We also experience the rewards of nurturance and collaboration as we practice reverence for creation, respect for ourselves and others, and the Quaker testimonies of simplicity, peace, integrity, equality, and community.
Dr. King
We learned about the meaning of the words Martin Luther King used during the civil rights campaign to inspire people -- nonviolence, equality, freedom, justice and love. Then we wrote them in chalk on the front walk of the meetinghouse for all the world to see.
